This 2-hour workshop is a beginner-level introduction to programming in R. This course is will start by covering the fundamentals behind the R programming language and its underlying data types and features. These principles will then be used to demonstrate the application of R to the analysis of tabular data from diverse datasets. At the end of this workshop, participants will:
- Grasp key concepts and advantages of the R programming language
- Understand the key data types in R and their use cases
- Know how to manipulate data types and to visualize results
- Acquire good practices for reproducible research
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Attendance for McGill graduate students and postdoctoral fellows is subsidized by Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. All other attendees such as undergraduate students, interns and/or graduate students from other institutions are required to purchase a ticket to cover organizational and staffing costs.
