Academic curriculum is tailored to the CFPC exam, to the 105 priority topics 

Academic curriculum is designed to ease the transition to practice: formal training offered in leadership, scholarship, and the acquisition of new skills 

Opportunities for teaching are limited and voluntary. 

As a senior resident, you will have many opportunities to teach peers and junior learners. 

Clinical activities are designed to impart the skills necessary to be a competent family physician and to pass the CFPC certification exam 

Clinical activities are designed to encourage the enrichment and consolidation of skills, and to respond to priority and emerging areas of societal need 

Residents require relatively close supervision: one field note per half-day 

Residents are near-independent physicians with plenty of autonomy: one field note per week

Duration and start dates: 

• 1-6 months 

• Start date as soon as possible after residency

Admissions: 

• Guidelines issued annually. Approval required from PGME, MSSS, CVDFM
