Neurodiversity in the Workplace

This interactive workshop is designed to equip participants with essential knowledge and practical strategies to better understand, support, and include neurodivergent employees in the workplace. Participants will gain insights into the diversity of neurocognitive profiles and how they may manifest in professional settings. Through discussion and real-world scenarios, they will explore common barriers faced by neurodivergent individuals, consider inclusive approaches to workplace interactions, and reflect on how to create environments that value and accommodate neurodiverse ways of thinking and working. The session will also highlight available resources at McGill, including accommodation processes and supports for both employees and managers.

By attending this workshop, participants will be better able to:

• Identify different manifestations of neurodiversity and impacts of ableism in the workplace
• Explore ways to enhance the inclusion of neurodivergent employees
• Reflect on various scenarios that may arise and determine best practices for intervening and supporting
• Summarize available resources including processes for accommodations at McGill
