Mosaïque Dialogues and the Artful Inquiry Research Group are co-hosting the upcoming hybrid event: "KEEP ME AWAY FROM THIS FATHER": A BRICOLAGE OF VIOLENCE WITHIN BRAZILIAN CURRICULUM, on Wednesday, May 8th, 4-5.30 pm.

Featuring Dr. MARIA SÜSSEKIND, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro State, who will be screening and discussing her short film documentary, exploring a curriculum and research-creation project with university students in Brazil.

"Keep Me Away from this Father" is a 16- minute documentary that takes up the findings of a teacher education social action research project in collaboration with graduate and undergraduate students at UNIRIO's Faculty of Education. Based on students' conversations, writings, songs, and images of patriarchal violence, the film examines the main themes discussed in the classes which culminated in 2023 with an installation in the male bathroom. The documentary film utilizes a decolonial curricular praxis informed by queer, poststructural, and afro-latin feminist theories.
