Welcome to Canada’s leading research dental school. Most of our research is inter-sectoral and multi-disciplinary in nature, with research programs concentrated in four fields: i) Pain and the Neurosciences; ii) Mineralized Tissues and Extracellular Matrix Biology; iii) Biomaterials, Nano-biotechnology, and Tissue Engineering; iv) Population Oral Health including clinical, community (rural, remote, and Indigenous) and health-care services research, as well as oral epidemiology studies. By investing in innovative methods and technologies, the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences produces research that changes lives.

The Faculty is home to researchers who are experts in a remarkable variety of disciplines and methodologies including, biomaterials, mathematics, cellular biology, neuroscience, epidemiology, medical anthropology, clinical trials, educational research, and community participatory research.
