Screening The Long Walk to Freedom

In honor of Black History Month and on behalf of the McGill Dentistry Graduate Student Society (MDGSS) and the Faculty Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) committee, we would like to invite you to a documentary screening to be held on 26th February from 11:30 am - 1:00pm on Zoom.

The Long Walk to Freedom : 12 ordinary people, from very different backgrounds, came to accomplish extraordinary deeds; deeds which changed the face of the nation. Together with tens of thousands of other Americans, they joined the Civil Rights movement to protest racial inequality, segregation, and discrimination in the 1960s.

1) You have the chance to join us for the screening @ 11:30 am (or)

2) watch the film on your own time and join us for the discussion @12:00.

Join us for the screening and discussion on Zoom.

Black History Month at McGill

Black History Month aims to celebrate and centre Blackness throughout the history, the present, and the future of McGill and beyond.

Black History Month 2021 is the fifth annual celebration of Black History Month at McGill University bringing together students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community members. This year's celebration is once again co-organized by the Office of the Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic), the Black Students’ Network of McGill (BSN), and the McGill African Students' Society (MASS). We appreciate the continued support of our partners on and off campus and look forward to honouring and celebrating Black history together!

Please find a schedule of events happening across McGill, Montreal, and beyond here.
