Tuition fees and other charges

The tuition fees page is maintained by the Accounting Department of McGill University. After accessing the web page, when asked to select the degree from the drop-down menu, choose Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD).

Canada student loan forgiveness
As of December 31, 2025, dentists working in rural areas and populations centres with fewer than 30,000 residents can apply for loan forgiveness, up to $60,000 over five years, toward their federal student loan balance. Learn about the eligibility requirements and application process

Equipment and materials fee

Equipment and material fees are payed each year by all students of the DMD Program. The fees vary from year to year and are used to purchase equipment and supplies used in the laboratories and clinics.

Required equipment for each year is ordered and reserved for Dentistry students and charged to their student fee account.  In order to view the current anticipated costs, please visit the Student Accounts' website.

Laptops

The Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences uses web-based courseware and examinations. Students will be required to be equipped with laptops that meet certain minimum requirements (word processing/office suite software, with compatible web browser (E-Curriculum), approximately 50 GB of free storage and Wi-Fi connection capabilities. It is strongly recommended to have the latest version of Chrome, Safari, or Microsoft Edge as well an up to date antivirus software.

Your personal device will need to be equipped with Windows 10 or later, or macOS Sonoma or later.
