Sarah McNamee

Sarah McNameeSarah McNamee, MSW, is a research coordinator at the Centre for Research on Children and Families at McGill University. She coordinates several multi-site projects which aim to evaluate the implementation of the trauma-informed Attachment, Self-Regulation and Competency (ARC) Model in child protection centres and schools across the province of Quebec. Sarah has assisted in the development and adaptation of trauma-informed practices for foster children, children and youth aged 3-17 in child protection residential care, and young offenders in custody. She also has several years of clinical experience working with survivors of sexual assault and conjugal violence, as well as people struggling with mental health and substance use disorders, where she developed an interest in complex trauma research and intervention. Her masters study project explored the barriers and facilitators to implementing trauma-informed practices in child protection settings.
