As of December 28th, McGill’s license of Virus Barrier X will expire. Replacing it is Trend Micro’s Smart Surfing for Mac. Its features include antivirus, antispyware and web threat protection; additionally, it has built in parental controls, a spam blocker and a two-way firewall.
McGill announces three senior appointments, including Dr. Colleen Cook as Trenholme Dean of Libraries
McGill University’s Principal and Vice-Chancellor Heather Munroe-Blum announced today that the University’s Board of Governors, at its Sept. 28, 2010 meeting, approved the appointments of three highly experienced executives to fill positions in McGill’s senior administrative team.
Dear Members of the McGill Community, The McGill University Budget for fiscal year 2010-2011 marks a series of transitions – a new accounting methodology, a new fiscal year end, and the closing of our first multi-year allocation plan linked to clearly articulated strategic academic priorities, which include sustaining strength in core fields across the board.
McGill University has accepted the conciliator’s proposal for a new collective agreement with MUNACA. McGill’s decision follows the vote by 80% of MUNACA’s members in favour of the same proposal at the MUNACA General Assembly held on Thursday, March 26, 2009.The new agreement will run until November 30, 2010.

The 74th Acfas congress will be taking place on McGill University's campus from Monday, May 15, to Friday, May 19. Parking will not be available on the main road from the Roddick Gate up to the Y intersection during the congress. The Roddick Gate will remain open to vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
All lower campus building occupants at Macdonald Campus are reminded that their buildings will be "swept" next Tuesday (May 31, per schedule posted). Please ensure that Freon has been removed from any refrigeration units that should be picked up by Facilities.
