McGill’s SMS automated notification service allows the University to quickly send text messages to staff, faculty and students during time-sensitive situations.

Due to a system error that occurred over the weekend, McGill staff and faculty are required to re-opt in to receive future emergency SMS messages. Students were not affected by the issue.

Additional security will soon be added to the Banner system requiring a two-step sign-in, using your McGill username, and then your Banner User ID. This will not change how you use Banner once you are signed in; Banner administrative tasks and functions remain the same.

Banner users will receive an email with more detailed instructions along with the go-live date.

While using Minerva, you may see error messages, such as "This page can't be displayed" or "This page isn't working."

IT Services is aware of this issue and we are actively working to resolve it. Given the random and inconsistent occurrence of these errors, it has been difficult to identify the root cause. However, we have noticed a greater occurrence of this error with Internet Explorer Microsoft Edge.
