Congratulations Jaden Shen and Charly Courage, winners of IT Services’ Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)  Opt in to Win contest!  Jaden is the grand prize winner of a 13” MacBook Pro laptop and Charly will be enjoying lunch for two at the McCord Museum Café Bistro!  Jaden and Charly were randomly selected from a list of McGill students, staff and faculty who opted in to 2FA by October 31, 2019.

Bell will be performing an upgrade on McGill's telephone equipment on Sunday, September 15th between 5:00 AM and 11:00 AM.

Internal calls should continue working without impact, except for an interruption of service for approximately 5 minutes before 7:00 AM.

If you have ever organized or participated in video conferences or webinars hosted with Zoom software, you should be aware of a vulnerability that was recently detected that affects MacOS users.  The vulnerability can allow a remote attacker to force you to join a Zoom call, with your video camera activated, without your permission.

McGill is pleased to announce a new Guest WiFi service, available to family, friends and other visitors.

Guests can connect to guest.mcgill.ca and either self-register or sign in with their social media credentials from Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn.

Please be advised that the Virtual Private Network (VPN) service will be unavailable on April 9, 2019 from 6h00 AM until 6h30 AM due to scheduled maintenance activities. Users who are connected to VPN during this time will be disconnected for the duration of this period. After this time, users will be able to reconnect to the service.

A vulnerability has recently been discovered in Google Chrome, which could allow attackers to remotely take control of users’ computers.
