Visitors at Board of Governors Meetings

The Board of Governors welcomes members of the University community, the public, and the media to attend Open Session meetings. Visitors are expected to follow the Board’s Rules of Order and Procedure as noted below:

I.  Admission of visitors will be on a first-come, first-accommodated basis.

II.  The number of visitors will be limited to the seating capacity of the room in which a Board meeting is held.

III.  Visitors are expected to observe normal rules of decorum and conduct at all times.

IV.  Visitors may not participate in debate or ask questions at a Board meeting, nor speak or act in a way that will interfere with the orderly conduct of the meeting.

V.  No tape, video or other means of recording or transmitting sound or images is permitted at any time whether prior to, during or after a Board meeting.

VI.  Visitors who behave in a manner which is disorderly or which hinders the business of the Board will have to leave the meeting. The Chair shall have discretion to require all visitors to leave.

Please note that in order to accommodate requests for additional observers to attend the Open Session of the December 5th Board meeting, the Secretariat has secured room 150 of the Arts Building, which will serve as an overflow room from which observers would be able to view the meeting’s proceedings.
