Laird Hall 

Laird Hall is a co-educational residence offering single and double bedrooms with common shared washrooms, kitchens and lounges. Residence fees for Laird Hall are charged in 8 equal monthly installments and students have occupancy of their residence from move-in weekend (August 23 and 24, 2014) until May 1st.

EcoResidence 

The EcoResidence is an apartment-style residence. The units are either six single bedrooms per apartment (six-plexes) or two single bedrooms per apartment (two-plexes). Fees are charged in 8 equal monthly installments and students have occupancy of their apartments from move-in weekend (August 23 and 24, 2014) until May 1st.

Cancellation fees

If you choose to cancel your room reservation prior to your moving in date, or to cancel your lease after moving in, the following cancellation fees will be charged to your student fee account:

Prior to August 1, 2014 $250
August 1, to September 23, 2014 inclusive Full Deposit amount ($500)
September 24, 2014 or later $750 penalty applies

Please note: Students who withdraw from the University after moving day must also withdraw from residence. No cancellation fees will apply and room rates will be pro-rated to the day the room is vacated and room keys have been returned.


Methods of Payment

Residence fees are payable monthly and will appear on your monthly tuition statement. They are payable through the following methods:

Canadian financial institutions: Payments can be made at all Canadian Financial Institutions, in person or at the automated teller machine (ATM). A remittance slip is required.

Telephone banking and internet banking: These methods are recommended. To use this service simply consult your bank and register McGill into your list of bill payments. Your McGill student I.D. number is the "account number" required by your bank.

By mail: Cheques, money orders, and bank drafts should be made payable to "McGill University" and mailed to:
