Withdrawal penalties

Application for residences are accepted and accommodation is assigned based on the understanding that students are making a commitment for the full academic year. Upon acceptance into residences, students are committing to a lease under Québec law. Students who withdraw from McGill University Residences for either academic or non-academic reasons will be held financially responsible. See Cancellation Policies.

Laird Hall 

Laird Hall: A co-ed residence that provides accomodation for undergraduate, graduate, and Farm Management Technology students. 2017/2018 Annual Fees  Rent will be charged in 8 equal monthly installments of:
Single Rooms $4,240 $530
Double Room $3,864 $483
Graduate Room $4,488 $561

 

EcoResidence 

EcoResidence: Each unit is a self-contained, fully furnished apartment with two or six single-bedrooms, and large, open common living areas.
 
2017-2018 Annual Fees Rent will be charged in 8 equal monthly installments of:
Duplex 20 units (40 beds) Single Room - 12 month $6,660 $555
Duplex 20 units (40 beds) Single Room - 8 month $4,704 $588
Sixplex 10 units (60 beds) Single Room - 8 month $4,568 $571

 


 


Methods of Payment

Residence fees are payable monthly and will appear on your monthly tuition statement. They are payable through the following methods:

Canadian financial institutions: Payments can be made at all Canadian Financial Institutions, in person or at the automated teller machine (ATM). A remittance slip is required.

Telephone banking and internet banking: These methods are recommended. To use this service simply consult your bank and register McGill into your list of bill payments. Your McGill student I.D. number is the "account number" required by your bank.

By mail: Cheques, money orders, and bank drafts should be made payable to "McGill University" and mailed to:
