Custom or vendor-built project toolkit

This toolkit is for units building or updating websites or applications which:

  • Use the McGill brand and a McGill URL (if applicable)
  • Are built from scratch or built using licensed software from outside McGill
  • Are designed and built by a freelancer, agency, or employee

The toolkit provides:

  • A summary of the requirements that the site or application must meet
  • The responsibilities of the project sponsor and team
  • A directory of resources for each stage of the project, including:
    • Planning and initiation
    • Design
    • Development
    • Launch and post-launch
    • Maintenance

Start off right! All website or application projects should begin with a data assessment form to make sure the system will comply with information security requirements. Be sure to describe the level of branding you plan to use; this will affect the information security assessment.
