We had the recent pleasure of welcoming Lucy Greco—renowned digital accessibility expert, advocate, and trailblazer—for an engaging session on creating accessible digital content. Co-hosted by the Digital Communications team and McGill’s Equity team, the event offered a valuable opportunity to learn from Lucy’s expertise and explore practical ways to enhance digital accessibility across our platforms.
Lucy shared inspirational stories and lessons gleaned from her 20-year career leading digital accessibility at the University of California, Berkeley. She generously answered our many questions, including:
- What strategies have you found most effective when advocating for accessibility within large institutions?
- What advice would you give to accessibility professionals who are feeling burnout or frustration?
- What role do you think generative AI or automation might play in accessibility, and what should we be cautious about?
