Ruchika Bhattacharya

Originating from the South Eastern side of the world and spending the last 5 years of my adolescent life in the Western part of the world, my personality is an amalgamation of the different cultural values co-existing in India and America. I have done my bachelors in psychology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and have deep interests in studying the interplay of nature v/s nurture on the development of an individual as well as childhood disorders. Besides my academics, I love dancing and interacting with new people thus justifying my extroverted personality.

My work in the King’s lab is to assist in the findings of the Queensland Flood Study. I have been assigned to watch videos of children playing with toys and understand the quality of their play; whether it is functional, stereotypical or normative. I’m very excited to start this new chapter of life in McGill university under the supervision of Dr. Suzanne King.
