Dr. Mirko S. Gilardino

Mirko S. Gilardino, MD, MSc, FRCSC, FACS

Professor of Surgery, McGill University

Dr. Gilardino is the former Chief of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at the McGill University Health Centre and a Professor of Surgery at McGill University. He is a board-certified Plastic Surgeon recognized by the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He completed his Plastic Surgery training at McGill University. In addition to obtaining a Masters Degree in Experimental Surgical Research, Dr. Gilardino completed an extra year of fellowship training in Complex Craniofacial Surgery at the world renowned Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, University of Pennsylvania.

From 2008 to 2025, Dr. Gilardino served as the Director of the H.B. Williams Craniofacial and Cleft Surgery Unit at the Montreal Children’s Hospital where he performed complex pediatric craniofacial reconstruction. Dr. Gilardino is the medical director and owner of Clinique Le 1620, a private cosmetic clinic, and has over 20 years of experience in aesthetic plastic surgery.

Biography: 

Dr. Mirko Gilardino is a board-certified Plastic Surgeon recognized by the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is currently the Chief of Plastic Surgery at the McGill University Health Centre and the Montreal Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Gilardino is the former Director of the Plastic Surgery Residency Program at the McGill University Health Centre, a program he led for 8 years. As former division chief, he was actively involved in surgical education and training of residents as an Associate Professor of Surgery at the McGill Faculty of Medicine. He also supervises the fellowship program in pediatric craniofacial reconstruction, one of the best in Canada.
