Graduate Research Enhancement and Travel (GREAT) Awards
GREAT awards will be given each year; value of awards is dependent on available funds . There will be one call for applications in the Fall and another in the Winter.

Thesis Master's or Doctoral students are eligible for a GREAT award if they are:
- In good standing,
- Registered full time in a research degree program,
- Have completed a Travel Registry if activity is outside of Canada (check which activities require this), and
- NOT in time limitation.
Awards must be used to support research travel and dissemination of research, including, but not limited to:
- Conference presentations;
- Field research; archival research; collaborative research outside the university not eligible for Graduate Mobility Awards or to complement a Graduate Mobility Award.
Students must meet the eligibility criteria at the time of travel and when the award is paid.
The Graduate Training Committee will evaluate applications, with priority given to:
- Trainees who are first author on the study being presented
- Oral presentations
- Travel to national and international conferences
Application process and deadlines: APPLICATIONS OPEN NOVEMBER 1st
Fall 2025: for research travel between July 2025 and December 2025
Winter 2026: for research travel between January 2026 and June 2026
Please send a copy of your accepted Abstract (indicate oral or poster presentation and list of authors), proof of conference registration, and your CV by email to the Graduate Program Coordinator (gradstudies.pathology [at] mcgill.ca) by 01 February.
