Biography: Elizabeth (Lizz) Webb is a PhD candidate in the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences where she uses math and physics to model the dynamics of the Arctic Ocean. She obtained an honour Bachelor degree in Mathematics and Statistics, with a minor in Earth Sciences, as well as a Master’s of Math in Applied Mathematics. Math is a subject that invokes anxiety in a lot of people, but Lizz loves to break down these concepts and ideas in a way that anyone can understand!

Lizz first discovered her love for teaching through her job as a swim instructor and is now an advanced instructor for lifesaving aquatics and first aid courses. Through graduate school, Lizz has enjoyed interacting with students as a TA and is now working as a Science Education Fellow to help improve teaching and learning within the McGill community.
