Funding

The funding opportunities listed below are provided for informational purposes. These awards and scholarships are administered by organizations external to the Ingram School of Nursing. We strongly advise students to thoroughly review all details and requirements directly with the respective awarding bodies before submitting their applications.

 

Bursary for Nurse Practitioner Students

The Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS) may offer scholarships for students enrolled in the Nurse Practitioner (NP) Program. For additional information regarding Ministry funding for NP studies, please visit: https://publications.msss.gouv.qc.ca/msss/document-001038/

 

Anti-Black Racism Initiative Recruitment Awards (ABRI Recruitment Award)

GPS offers Graduate Excellence Recruitment Awards to applicants to graduate degree programs. These awards are offered in support of McGill’s Action Plan to Address Anti-Black Racism by unit nomination, based on self-identification during the admissions process. Nominations can be made only after voluntary self-identification. Amounts vary by degree pursued. Nomination deadline for Fall 2024 admits is April 30th, 2024.

 

Indigenous Graduate Excellence Recruitment Awards

In support of the 52 Calls to Action for Truth and Reconciliation at McGill, GPS offers recruitment awards to Indigenous applicants to graduate degree programs. These awards are offered directly through GPS to all self-identified Indigenous students. No action is required from the department. Amounts vary by degree pursued.

 

Major Fellowships

GPS holds sponsorship and fellowship agreements with some countries. Please see the GPS website for a complete list of the sponsorship agreements.

 

Black Academic Scholarship Fund

The Jackie Robinson Graduate Scholarship will award $3000 non-renewable to a student who is in the final year of an undergraduate program in Arts & Sciences at a Canadian University & who has been accepted into a Graduate Program.

 

CNF Scholarships

The Canadian Nursing Foundation (CNF) offers a variety of scholarships with specific criteria to ONE IN FIVE applicants across Canada every year! Available scholarships include: 
• Masters and Nurse Practitioner 
• Scholarships to advance Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
• Internationally Educated Nursing Award

 

Three AQIISM Scholarships

L’Association québécoise des infirmières et infirmiers en santé mentale (AQIISM) offers three $1,500 scholarships to students enrolled in a mental health nurse practitioner master’s or doctoral program in nursing sciences.

 

CBNA Scholarships

The Canadian Black Nurses Alliance (CBNA) offers 2 scholarships to registered CBNA members: the CBNA Award of Excellence and the CBNA Award for Community Impact.
