Kelley Kilpatrick, RN, PhD, is a Full Professor at the Ingram School of Nursing and holder of the Susan E. French Chair in Nursing Research and Innovative Practice at McGill University. She is a regular researcher at the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital Research Centre. Professor Kilpatrick completed a PhD in Nursing at McGill University (2010) and a post-doctoral fellowship at McMaster University (2011) at the Canadian Health Services Research Foundation/Canadian Institutes of Health Research Chair Program in Advanced Practice Nursing. She has worked with a range of stakeholders to implement nurse practitioner roles in home care and long-term care teams in Quebec. Her work influenced Quebec’s laws regulating nurse practitioner practice, as well as international advanced practice role implementation, including the World Health Organization’s 2026-2030 priorities for research, education and policy in nursing. A Fonds de recherche du Québec-Santé Research Scholar from 2013 to 2025, Prof. Kilpatrick's research program aims to improve patient and family experience of care by optimizing functioning in inter-professional teams that include advanced practice nurses.
