Lynne McVey was appointed Associate Dean and Director of the Ingram School of Nursing (ISoN), Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, McGill University, effective October 1, 2024. A two-time McGill graduate (BSc in Physiology, MSc in Nursing), she also completed executive education at the Wharton Business School and Harvard Business School. Prof. McVey brings extensive leadership experience in healthcare, having served as CEO of Santé Monde, a global health organization, and as President and CEO of CIUSSS de l’Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal. She also held pivotal roles at the Jewish General Hospital and the Douglas Mental Health University Institute. An advocate for innovation in nursing education, Prof. McVey co-developed ISoN’s Executive Education for Nurses program, which empowers nurse managers to advance into executive roles. This initiative has been lauded for addressing healthcare system challenges post-pandemic, with an advanced curriculum launched in October 2024. Her contributions to nursing leadership have earned her numerous accolades, including the McGill Medicine Alumni Global Impact Award of Merit (2017) and the YWCA Montreal Woman of Distinction Award (2013). As ISoN Director, Prof. McVey is dedicated to enhancing the School’s education, research, and partnerships while championing the role of nursing in shaping global healthcare systems.
