2025 Admissions
The Medical Campus selection form is mandatory for Quebec-residency cohort candidates invited to the MMIs for the (Med-P) Qualifying Year and the MDCM program. Candidates who are invited to interview for the (Med-P) Qualifying Year and the MDCM program will receive a link to complete the form by email after their interview.
Admissions selection criteria and curriculum for both sites are the same (with the exception of the level of French language proficiency required B2 Montreal/C1 Campus Outaouais). See "Language Proficiency" for more information.
For Campus Outaouais, the Med-P Qualifying Year is offered at l’Université du Québec en Outaouais (UQO)'s Gatineau Campus and the MDCM program is located at Campus Outaouais on the site of the Gatineau Hospital. The language of course instruction for both the Med-P Qualifying Year and the MDCM program is French. Clinical placements are in francophone or at bilingual sites.
- For Montreal, the Med-P Qualifying Year and the MDCM program are offered at McGill's downtown Montreal Campus. The language of course instruction for both the Med-P Qualifying year and the MDCM program is English. Note that French proficiency at the B2 level is required for the Montreal campus to succeed in clinical placements, which are in bilingual and francophone environments beginning in the first year of the MDCM program. See "Language Proficiency" for more information.
The form is the only opportunity for candidates to express their choice of campus. This choice is binding, and cannot be changed at a later date during the admission process. Admitted students are not permitted to transfer their registration between the two campuses. However, various elective opportunities on both campuses are available to all MDCM students, and all graduates have the same opportunities to any postgraduate residency, at McGill or other institutions.
Waitlist procedures: Candidates who select "Either" and who receive an offer of admission for their non-preferred campus can choose to decline this offer and remain on the waitlist for their preferred campus. Candidates who accept the offer for their non-preferred campus can also remain on the waitlist for their preferred campus. Only candidates who obtained a French language proficiency test score at the C1 level or are exempt from submitting a French language proficiency test score can receive an offer to Campus Outaouais (as per the language policy).
