Faculty of Law Development Fund
This fund provides the flexibility that the Faculty needs to support unique student initiatives, encourage leading-edge research, fund innovative emerging priorities, enhance the Nahum Gelber Law Library collection, and build on our groundbreaking program for legal education.
Blaine Baker Entrance Scholarship Fund
Celebrating Professor Blaine Baker’s 30 years of service and dedication, this endeavour will allow us to endow the Blaine Baker Entrance Scholarship Fund, which will be dedicated to providing a scholarship for an admitted student with graduate studies experience entering a undergraduate Law program on the basis of academic merit. This fund will allow the Faculty to promote outstanding legal education and research, and to admit the best entering class each year.
Law Classes of ’81, ’82 and ’83 Fund
A Fund to bring together three classes that shared close ties. Gifts received will support a research assistant in law, thereby bridging the gap between legal research and law teaching.
Law Class of ’91 Fund
A Fund that will be used to support an endowed bursary for a Law student in need.
The Osler Hoskin & Harcourt Business Law Fund
A fund was established by the firm of Osler Hoskin & Harcourt to support initiatives in legal education and business law. Osler employees encouraged to contribute to the Faculty of Law through this fund. All contributions will be matched by the employer.
Gerald Le Dain Fund in Constitutional and Administrative Law
In an homage to this esteemed teacher and Supreme Court justice, the Class of ’58 has joined the Le Dain’s family to establish Gerald Le Dain Fund in Constitutional and Administrative Law.
Michel Proulx Memorial Conferences
A shrewd judge, a great lawyer and a learned professor of law, Michel Proulx devoted his life to the improvement of the criminal justice system and to the advancement of human rights in Canada. His family has decided to honour his memory by establishing a fund for the Michel Proulx Lectures.
Maxwell and Isle Cohen Fund
This fund honours the memory of Maxwell Cohen (1910-1998) and his wife, Isle A. Cohen (née Sternberg) who passed away in November 2008. Maxwell Cohen was a law professor, dean and scholar who played an important part in determining the direction of the law and legal institutions in Canada as well as internationally. The centennial anniversary of Professor Cohen's birth was celebrated in March 2010.
