It Takes All Of Us (Completing the Online Program)

The Office for Sexual Violence Response, Support and Education (OSVRSE), in collaboration with the "It Takes All of Us" online sexual violence prevention program is hosting a survivor-centered event, whereby people impacted by sexual violence can come and complete the 45-minute mandatory online training in a safe, comfortable and supportive space with our staff and volunteers.

The event is free and participants will be provided with snacks while they complete the training. Active listeners will be on site to help discuss anything that may come up for you while completing the training. Please bring your own personal laptop, earphones (and charger) to complete the modules.

If you experience emotional distress before or while completing the modules, and want to discuss the possibility of having an accommodation, our staff will be available to discuss options with you (including alternative ways of receiving the content). You may also email osvrse [at] mcgill.ca.

Accessibility: Access can be granted via the main entrance. All levels are accessible by a public elevator. Accessible washrooms can be found on the 2nd floor.

It Takes All of Us: Creating a Campus Community Free of Sexual Violence is a stand-alone (not run by the OSVRSE) learning program that strives to increase awareness of sexual violence to ensure that our campus culture is based on respect and consent. The training consists of four modules that use character-driven scenarios to teach important topics surrounding sexual violence and its impact. This program is required for everyone at McGill including all students, staff and faculty, and initiated by provincial Bill 151.

The program can be accessed on myCourses using your McGill credentials. For any questions, please email sv-education [at] mcgill.ca.

Due to the size of McGill’s population, the program is currently being rolled out in phases to our various community members. Incoming students have already been given access. Returning students and academic staff have access to the modules beginning September 23rd and faculty/administrative staff will have access to the program in January 2020. Please see mcgill.ca/sv-education.ca for a breakdown of when you can expect access to the program.

McGill's course is based on Concordia University’s “It Takes All of Us – Creating a Campus Community Free of Sexual Violence”, which is based upon expertise provided by Jennifer (JD) Drummond, Sexual Assault Resource Centre (SARC) Coordinator, Concordia University, and other contributors, and developed by KnowledgeOne, Concordia University’s online education service provider.
