Negotiation Update: AMURE Research Associates and Research Assistants

Negotiations for the renewal of the collective agreement for Research Assistants and Associates between AMURE and McGill began in the Fall of 2022. The parties have been meeting on a regular basis and have been able to discuss and come to agreement on a number of non-monetary elements.

Since October 2022, the parties have exchanged and discussed in detail their monetary proposals. On February 10, 2023, the parties presented their respective latest global proposals on all pending monetary and non-monetary items. Although the parties are still in discussions, the union has decided to request the support of a conciliator, which the employer is in support of. The parties have prescheduled meeting dates and a Conciliator has already been appointed by the Ministère du Travail. The appointed Conciliator from the Ministry of Labour will soon schedule meetings with the parties and we will keep the community informed of progress made.
