EPIBRAIN - Epidemiologically scaled imaging and biology for brain health across the lifespan

Principal Investigator: Gregory Mark Lathrop
International partner: University of Bordeaux
HBHL funding (over 3 years): $720,000
Total international partner funding: $800,000
HBHL award start date: January 1, 2021

Through an international collaboration of world-leading brain researchers, epidemiologists, clinicians, genome scientists and bioinformaticians in Canada, France and Germany, EPIBRAIN will create a comprehensive data infrastructure for multi-faceted investigations of brain health from adolescence to old age. The project is designed to lead to breakthroughs in the understanding of cognitive decline, dementia and stroke, as well as advance our ability to diagnose, prevent and treat these conditions. These are principal sources of morbidity and mortality in the aging population, and critical to combat in order to maintain brain health throughout life.
