Enrolment Services (ES) reports to the Deputy Provost (Student Life and Learning).

Enrolment Services (ES) is a large and varied office with a wide range of responsibilities. These include:

Service to prospective and current students

  • Promote high-quality, consistent and prompt web, email, phone and in-person response to prospective students, applicants, current students, graduates, CEGEP and high school counsellors, and parents
  • Provide campus tour service to visiting families

Admissions and recruitment

  • Develop and implement a rolling recruiting and admissions plan related to the undergraduate faculties for which ES has this responsibility that is in tune with senior management and faculty objectives
  • Benchmark admissions procedures internally and against national and international standards

Records management

  • Protect the integrity of the McGill transcript and diploma
  • Coordinate and promote best practices for prospect, applicant and student records processes (courses, registrations, exams), both internally within Enrolment Services and amongst various offices on campus, in particular, other admissions units, Student Accounts, Graduate Studies, School of Continuing Studies, faculty Student Affairs Offices and departments
  • Ensure that the student information system, and future development and upgrades, remains aligned with our work processes and with faculty and central unit priorities

Reporting

  • Provide regular reports to the Québec Ministry of Education and BCI on admissions statistics, student registration and graduation to support the University's funding and other responsibilities
  • Develop and schedule key operational reports and management reports related to admissions and student records on a timely basis
  • Promote an understanding and consistent use of the student data warehouse across campus

External relations

  • Represent McGill locally, Canada-wide, and internationally to prospective students, the public, the media, and government
  • Support international outreach related to McGill's exchange agreements with other universities and other organizations
