Micro-ExP
Projects, placements and micro-courses to build skills and grow your network in just one week.
Micro-ExP is a work-integrated learning program that offers McGill students from all faculties and levels of study the chance to gain meaningful work experience through micro-internships.
The program is specifically designed for students who might not yet have work experience, addressing the common challenge of “no experience, no job.”
“Overall, it was an amazing experience that allowed me to discover something new and gave me something interesting to talk about during my interviews” – Undergraduate student
Micro Internships, Real Work Exposure
Unlike a traditional 4-month internship or co-op, Micro-ExP offers students the opportunity to deliver results to an organization in just one week. It’s perfect for students who want to explore a career path, grow their confidence, and hone their professional communication skills.
Whether completely remote, hybrid, or onsite, these short-term experiences allow students to develop skills and explore industries by providing real work exposure. Students observe, network, and engage in tasks based on employer needs, in the form of an unpaid project or placement, for up to 15 hours per student.
“It was a great experience; they all contributed to the project as per expectations. We are even hiring one of the students for an internship; she surprised us with the quality of work in such a short amount of time.” - Employer
