Lean Startup

Dedicated to build startups from life sciences breakthroughs, the Life Sciences Lean Startup program is designed to grow the entrepreneurial mindset of innovators in the sciences and healthcare industries. Through weekly workshops and personalized mentorship sessions, participants will be introduced to the world of entrepreneurship and acquire the tangible tools to establish realizable goals building a viable startup.

Key learnings

  • Introduction to the entrepreneurial journey

  • Understand your market and articulate your value proposition

  • Protect your intellectual property

  • Craft the first iteration of a business plan

  • Communicate your start-up idea to different stakeholders

Program format

Dates: October – December 2024

Time: Mondays, 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM

Hybrid program: sessions will be virtual and in-person at the Dobson Centre to accommodate our global network of speakers and mentors.

Who is this program for?

We welcome teams with:

  • at least one McGill affiliated co-founder e.g., student, faculty, staff or alumni (graduated within the last 10 years).

  • an innovation advancing any multidisciplinary field focused on improving the delivery, quality, speed, cost or accessibility of healthcare to patients to prevent and cure diseases and improve patient quality of life.

  • multi-disciplinary backgrounds (including learners or graduates) and at least at least one technical co-founder who can build your business upon a technology or science.

  • commitment to attend all the workshops and executing the project work (required to maintain participation in the program).
