Introduction to PostGreSQL - Part 2

Overview: In this workshop you will build on your skills acquired in the Introduction to PostGreSQL. We will go into more depth of SQL commands, like indexing, stacking SQL queries, further go into grouping and intersecting data, inserting and modifying data.  Further, you will learn how to work with a PostGreSQL database from either Python or R.
 
At the end of the workshop, you will be able to:
•    understand the concept of using indices
•    use common table expressions
•    group and intersect data
•    modify data
•    use PostGreSQL in combination with either a programming language like Python or R
 
Prerequisites: Having PostgreSQL 17 installed on your computer. The instructor will send you information on how to do so for Mac OS, Windows and Linux. Have a basic knowledge of Python or R. Please make sure to bring your laptop and charger.

Location: HYBRID. Online via Zoom, or in-person at Burnside Hall room 1104
