
McGill Law ranked among the global top 30 law schools by QS
The Faculty of Law was again ranked among the world’s top universities at which to study law by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). The 2026 QS World University Rankings by Subject in Law and Legal Studies placed McGill Law 30th worldwide.
Since QS introduced the ranking in 2011, the Faculty of Law has consistently placed in the top 50 institutions globally. The QS ranking is based on academic reputation, employer reputation, H-index citations, and citations per paper.

Tina Piper appointed Dean of the Faculty of Law
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Tina Piper as Dean of the Faculty of Law at McGill University. Her five-year term will begin on April 1, 2026.
Professor Piper has been serving as Interim Dean of Law since winter 2025. In this important transitional role, she has led McGill Law with warmth, intellectual rigour, and a focus on cultivating both academic excellence and a strong sense of community.

The Faculty of Law is delighted to announce it was again ranked as one of the world’s top universities at which to study law. The Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings placed McGill 33rd worldwide.
Since the law ranking was introduced in 2017, McGill has consistently featured in the global top 35. This year, 425 law schools around the world were ranked.

Peer Zumbansen appointed inaugural holder of the Elizabeth Carmichael Monk Chair in Business Law
