Elizabeth Carmichael Monk Chair in Business Law presents 2nd Annual Conference of the CTN-LB
We are pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Conference of the Canadian-Transnational Network on Law & Business (CTN-LB), taking place on Friday, 25th September 2026 at Osgoode Professional Development, York University, Toronto.
The Conference explores the theme “Power and the Role of Business Law,” and will provide a forum for critical discussions on contemporary developments in business law from Canadian, comparative, and transnational perspectives.
CTN-LB was launched in May 2025 with the goal of bringing together an international group of academics and practitioners to facilitate collaboration and mentorship in a range of business law and sustainable governance-related fields between Canadian, U.S., Latin-American and European schools. To this end, it supports an annually rotating conference.
Another goal of the CTN-LB is to support early career researchers in business law and offer a transnational graduate student mentorship program. The Conference is therefore paired with a Junior Faculty Forum, taking place on Thursday, 24th September 2026 at Helliwell Centre, Osgoode Hall Law School, York University, Toronto.
The 2026 Conference is supported by the Elizabeth Carmichael Monk Chair in Business Law and the McGill Business Law Platform, the Jarislowsky Dimma Mooney Chair in Corporate Governance at Osgoode Hall Law School and Schulich School of Business, and the Nathanson Centre on Transnational Human Rights, Crime and Security at Osgoode Hall Law School.
