Hamad Abouelhassan completed his Bachelor of Science in Public Health at Kuwait University, with a concentration in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. His undergraduate research experience involved the application of epidemiologic and statistical methods to population health questions, including cancer epidemiology, infectious disease epidemiology, and predictive modeling using machine learning. These experiences developed his interest in quantitative methods for understanding the determinants of disease at the population level.
Hamad is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Epidemiology at McGill University. His research interests include cancer epidemiology, spatial epidemiology, and biostatistical methods. His MSc thesis examines the geographic clustering of testicular cancer in Canada and its potential association with proximity to sites associated with per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
