Chang completed her Bachelor of Science in the Interdepartmental Honour’s program of Immunology at McGill University. Her experience with immunological laboratory techniques in autoimmune research led to her interest in immune interventions in cancer research at the population level. She then completed a graduate diploma in oncology, with her area of focus being population and global cancer control. During this degree, Chang pursued research in hereditary cancer syndrome, particularly focusing on genetic predisposition to childhood lymphomas. Chang is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Epidemiology. Her thesis project explores the relationship between the genital microbiome and HPV infections through a scoping review and analysis of the HITCH cohort.
