Abiha Raza

Abiha (Abbie) holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a certificate in Applied Social Science from the University of Alberta. She has prior experience working in community-based opioid harm reduction initiatives in inner-city Edmonton. Her academic interests lie at the intersection of social epidemiology, health equity, and quantitative health modelling. She is currently a graduate student under the supervision of Dr. Talía Malagón, where she works on simulation modelling to predict equity outcomes in cervical cancer prevention using Markov models. Her work focuses on modelling alternate HPV screening strategies to assess their potential impacts across underserved populations, integrating her background in social science with applied health decision modelling in cancer equity research.
