Graduate Teaching Assistants

Teaching Assistant positions for the Fall semester are typically posted in June, and positions for the Winter semester are typically posted in November.

HOW TO APPLY:

The process to apply is different depending on your current status in Workday at McGill. Please read the information below carefully.

*All applicants must be McGill graduate students who will be registered in the Fall 2024 semester.

Internal Candidates:

• An INTERNAL candidate is a current McGill graduate student WITH an active job/contract in Workday.
• Only use this option if you have a position at McGill through Workday in the Winter 2024 semester that is active NOW, on the day you are applying.
• Review the information found here before submitting your application
• You must log into the McGill VPN before logging into Workday.
  • Information on connecting to the VPN can be found here: https://www.mcgill.ca/itsupport/vpn
  • Information on Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), which is mandatory for VPN use, can be found here: https://www.mcgill.ca/2fa/
• Once you are logged into Workday through the VPN, search for the position number found in the spreadsheet above (JR00000XXXXX) and apply as an Internal candidate.
• Include your McGill ID number on all documents.
• Upload a copy of your CV and a completed copy of the TA Application Form

External Candidates:

• An EXTERNAL candidate is a McGill graduate student WITHOUT an active job/contact in Workday.
  • If you had a job in a previous semester but do not have a job/contract NOW, on the day you are applying, you are an External candidate.
• Review the information found here before submitting your application
• Use a non-McGill email address (i.e. Gmail, Hotmail, etc.)
• Use your full legal name (you can update your file to a preferred name once you've been hired)
• Use the link for the job posting in the spreadsheet above to apply
• Include your McGill ID number on all documents.
• Upload a copy of your CV and a completed copy of the TA Application Form

Invigilators

There are multiple exam supervision positions available through the same job posting. Please make sure you are available for at least one of the midterm exam dates before applying.
