What is a Send-Off?

Change is exciting, but it can also be nerve-wracking! Beginning your studies at McGill marks the start of a new chapter. To help during this time of transition, the McGill Alumni Association holds Send-Offs each summer in cities around the world, offering a chance for incoming students to connect with McGill students, alumni, and parents and to learn more about what to expect before the school year starts. Send-Offs are an excellent way to build your McGill network, ask burning questions, and get excited for life on campus and in Montreal!

Get ready. Get excited. Go!

Our Send-Off team is busy developing the full schedule of events and makes updates to the list of Send-Off cities regularly. If you are interested in volunteering for next year’s Send-Off series, sendoffs.alumni [at] mcgill.ca (subject: Volunteer%20at%20Send-offs) (please let us know)!

New student resources

Whether a Send-Off is held in your city or not, check out McGill’s Get Ready website for a complete overview of programs, resources and events that are available to new students before you even start class. And connect with your fellow freshmen before you arrive by joining your cohort’s Facebook group.
