Event Description

Join Michelle Macleod, McGill Visual Arts Collection’s Assistant Curator, as we highlight some new and noteworthy photographs in the University’s art collection. In this talk, you will learn more about the VAC’s recent photo acquisitions as well as other significant photographers in the collection. A focus on documentary photographs by Quebecois artists will have us seeing double as we explore photographic vision and discuss the unique characteristics of the medium and its history. In this talk, three prints by Charles Gurd, Gabor Szilasi, and Daniel Fodor from the University’s collection are put in dialogue to explore photographic vision.
