McGill Desautels BCom students take seven podiums at the 2010 Jeux du Commerce

Desautels Faculty of Management BCom students took two 1st place, one 2nd place and four 3rd place podiums at the 22nd edition of the Jeux du Commerce, held at the John Molson School of Business in Montreal from January 8 to 10, 2010.

Over 1,200 students from 13 Eastern-Canadian universities attended this inter-university competition. In addition to competitions that applied academic knowledge to real-life situations, there were opportunities to network with students from different universities, and connect with the business world. Sports and social competitions were also part of the event.

Great performances won seven podiums for the following McGill students:

First place

Stock Simulation: Chris Colozza, Neil Cuggy, Rob Dardzinski, Daniel Schacter

Strategy : Genevieve Brousseau Provencher, Simon Dubois, Derek Ruediger


Second place

Deloitte Accounting Team : Alexandre Plouffe, Nadia Sayed, Daniel Schacter


Third place

Ethics : Barbara Dourley, Ronen Tal, Kristine Triandafilou

Debate : Matthew Atwood, Carmel Jacobson, Sabereen Munir, Vandad Pourbahrami

International Business : Audréann Cote Fournier, Olivia Lee, Frederique Marsan-Martin

Xerox Marketing Team : Emily Hendren, Nicholas Martin, Antoine Ngo

A big thank you goes out to students Josyane Green, Alexandra Mohsen and Mathieu Lépine for leading the McGill delegation of 83 students.

Thanks also go to Professor Richard Donovan’s support and coaching to all the teams and to Professors Angela Burlton, Mo Chaudhury, Vadim di Pietro, Catherine Fortin, Suzanne Gagnon, Larry Goldsman, Sujata Madan, Saurabh Mishra, Julia Scott, Omar Toulan, Greg Vit and Heather Vough who provided their time and expertise to coach our students.
