In-person class cancellation and work-from-home / Annulation des cours en présentiel et télétravail. McGILL ALERT! Due to freezing rain all in-person classes and activities on Wednesday, March 11, will be cancelled. Kevin Schwartzman -Member

Dr. Kevin Schwartzman completed his Bachelor of Arts (BA or AB) in history and science at Harvard College, followed by his MD and residency training in internal medicine and respirology at McGill University. He then obtained his Master of Public Health (MPH) at Harvard University, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in TB epidemiology with Dr. Dick Menzies at McGill.

A Professor of Medicine, he was previously director of the McGill Respiratory Division (2014-2023) and is currently Associate Chair for Research in the McGill Department of Medicine (2023-). He has also served as President of the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease North America Region and Chair of the Union's TB Section.

Dr. Schwartzman’s  research investigates screening and treatment interventions for TB infection and disease, with a focus on decision analysis modelling and economic evaluations

Current research projects:

  • Addressing the downstream impacts of intensified screening and treatment for TB infection among migrants to Canada.
  • Addressing the downstream impacts of enhanced investment in TB prevention and care abroad, with respect to TB-related health outcomes and costs in Canada.
  • The relationship of treatment adherence to clinical outcomes in TB disease.
