Amanda Marino

Dr. Amanda Marino earned her medical degree and completed both her Internal Medicine and Respirology residencies at McGill University. She is currently pursuing advanced fellowship training in TB and NTM at Harvard University’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and the University of Toronto. When she returns to McGill University Health Centre, Dr. Marino will continue her clinical work as a Clinician-Teacher, combining patient-centered care with a strong commitment to mentorship and innovative teaching in tuberculosis and non-tuberculous mycobacterium.

Current Research Projects:

Dr. Marino’s research focuses on improving the quality and equity of care for people living with mycobacterial lung disease. Through the CARE-TB/NTM project, she is helping design and evaluate an interdisciplinary model of care that integrates pharmacists and patient perspectives to better manage complex multi-drug regimens, minimize medication side effects, and strengthen shared decision-making.

She is also involved in a study exploring how TB isolation policies influence the experiences of people with TB and their providers. This work examines the social, financial, and emotional consequences of prolonged isolation and seeks practical strategies to improve communication, reduce stigma, and support the NTCA   community isolation guideline implementation across health systems.
