The McGill Department of Surgery is recognized nationally and internationally for its excellence in surgical education, research and innovation, and high quality patient care. Graduates of our surgical training programs have become our ambassadors around the world; many have risen to prominent leadership positions in their institutions. We continue to attract outstanding residents from around the world, and to train them to be superb clinical surgeons with a thirst for generating new knowledge that will enhance patient care. In fact, this bedside to bench to bedside philosophy is the hallmark of surgical research.
Our graduates develop more than surgical skills during their time at McGill; they foster bonds of friendship with one another and loyalty to their mentors and to the institution where they trained. Over the years our surgical newsmagazine, The Square Knot, has become a vehicle to strengthen those bonds. Your financial support not only helps keep our Department at the forefront of the medical community, but also enables us to continue to improve the Square Knot and to keep in touch with all of you.
The future of The McGill Department of Surgery as a truly great department depends more than ever on gifts from private sources. Such donations can be made ONLINE by credit card via the Montreal General Hospital Foundation.
