Leadership in Surgery

Every surgeon is a leader!

The role of a surgeon by definition entails leadership responsibilities. Leading an operating room and taking decision that will impact the life of a patient and his family are important aspects of this role.  The Department of Surgery is invested in supporting our surgeon-leaders in developing their leadership skills across many areas such as design thinking, lean management, conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, etc.  To achieve this goal, our department joint forces with the McGill's Desautel Faculty of Management to create a leadership program that is specifically tailored to the life of a surgeon.

If you are interested participating in this leadership program, please fill out the Leadership Program Form and we will contact you.

Pertinent workshops and leadership sessions offered by the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences:

The Faculty Development Office also offers a Leadership Development Program designed for members of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at McGill University. It is geared towards those for whom leadership is part of their current or future career trajectory. Participants will have an opportunity to work on their own leadership challenges and should be in a position to implement their new skills in the workplace upon completion of the Program.
