Dr. Fleiszer is a leader in the captivating and pedagogically-effective design and implementation of online Virtual Patient scenarios used in medical education. These provide the opportunity to assess and study medical/surgical learning by medical students, residents, and practising physicians/surgeons.

Biography: 

Dr. Fleiszer completed both undergraduate and graduate medical education at McGill University. One year of Surgical Residency was at the Grenfell Mission Hospital in Northern Newfoundland.
Dr. Fleiszer helped to establish the Montreal General Hospital Trauma Program. In that process he became the President of the Trauma Association of Canada and Director of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit.
Dr. Fleiszer was the major force behind the conception and creation of the Cedars Breast Cancer Clinic and was its Co-Director for many years. His clinical care focus continues to be on surgical diagnosis and care of patients with breast cancer.
Dr. Fleiszer has pioneered the Online Virtual Patient Program to enhance medical teaching and learning through the integration of technology, art, and pedagogy. These innovations and products, with his continuing contributions, are used by undergraduate, postgraduate, and practising physicians. They have also influenced patient/family education initiatives.
