Students in graduate programs pay tuition fees on a per credit basis or a flat rate basis according to their status. Tuition fees will rise by 3% in Master’s level programs which is reflected in the amounts shown below.

Student Society and departmental or faculty based fees are not listed below but are summarized by viewing the fees for the program at Graduate Tuition & Fees.

Fees are quoted on a per term basis (15 credits full-time; 7.5 credits half-time)

  • All Students (Canadian students are given a tuition waiver of $354.16 per credit)

Tuition Rates for Students in Graduate Thesis Programs Taking "Extra" Courses

Graduate students, including Master’s thesis and PhD students, taking courses considered to be “extra” to their program are subject to additional tuition and copyright fees at the following rates. (These rates are not applicable to students in self-funded programs , eg. MBA or IMPM Health Sector, a self-funded rate will apply – please contact student.accounts [at] mcgill.ca for information).
