A question period is scheduled on the Senate agenda for each meeting. Any senator may submit a written question or motion before a Senate meeting (see deadlines and templates below) for review by the Steering Committee. The Steering Committee has the delegated authority of Senate to make a determination on the admissibility of questions and motions.

The deadline for submitting questions and motions for consideration by the Senate Steering Committee is 5:00 p.m. on:
- Thursday, September 3, 2026, for consideration on September 8, 2026.
- Thursday, October 1, 2026, for consideration on October 6, 2026.
- Thursday, October 29, 2026, for consideration on November 3, 2026.
- Thursday, November 19, 2026, for consideration on November 24, 2026.
- (12:00 p.m.) Monday, January 4, 2027, for consideration on January 7, 2027.
- Thursday, January 28, 2027, for consideration on February 2, 2027.
- Thursday, March 4, 2027, for consideration on March 9, 2027.
- Thursday, April 1, 2027, for consideration on April 6, 2027.
- Thursday, April 22, 2027, for consideration on April 27, 2027.
Questions or motions submitted after the deadline will be considered by the Senate Steering Committee at a subsequent meeting.
