Subject to disallowance by the Governor General of Canada before July 22, 2025, the following revisions to the composition of the Senate of McGill University will take effect in time for the 2025-2026 governance year. The revisions arose from the work of the Ad hoc Committee to Review the Composition of Senate, and were approved by Senate on May 7, 2025, and by the Board of Governors on May 22, 2025. A detailed overview of the review process and all resulting recommendations, as well as supporting rationale, is available here. With the implementation of the revisions, the size of Senate will increase to 114 members, from 111 currently.

- Two from the administrative and support services reporting to the Provost and Executive Vice-President (Academic);
- One from the administrative and support services reporting to the Vice-President (Administration and Finance);
- One from the administrative and support services reporting to the Vice-President (Research and Innovation);
- One from the administrative and support services reporting to the President and Vice-Chancellor, Vice-President (University Advancement), Vice-President (Global Engagement), Vice-President (Communications and Institutional Relations), or Secretary-General.
