Sanskrit and Tibetan Translation Workshop

Saturday, September 23, 2023 09:00to16:00
Birks Building 3520 rue University, Montreal, QC, H3A 2A7, CA

A full-day workshop for the McGill community hosted by Professors Lara Braitstein and Hamsa Stainton. The workshop will focus on the translation and study of Sanskrit and Tibetan texts. Two prominent scholars working on Sanskrit and Tibetan religious literature would come to Montreal to lead the main sessions of the workshop. The event itself would include formal presentations by participating scholars on these primary sources and their translations, followed by informal workshops on those translations with all participants. The format of the event is designed to maximize the training of graduate students working in different Asian languages, and to enhance the current research and future publications of SRS faculty through collaborative exchange.
